This Friday, Year 1 came over all patriotic and held a British themed day as an Ignite for our ‘Famous Britons’ topic. We were hugely impressed by the varied and imaginative costumes as well as the children’s creativity on the day. We collaged Union Jacks, painted the Queen’s portrait, iced red, white and blue biscuits, made sandwiches for afternoon tea and enjoyed the highlights of significant national events (Queen’s Jubilee, London Olympics) on screen.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for afternoon tea (especially those who were brave enough to try the child-made sandwiches!) at the end of the day, it was a fantastic turnout and the children were delighted to share part of their day with you.
