The class has made a good start to the term with the launch of our new topic Wet & Wild.
We have started with ‘The Night Pirates’ book and have created a role play boat with pirate costumes.
Many of the children have brought in their own Pirate stories which we have enjoyed sharing with everyone.
The children have made their own treasure maps and they can all tell you that ‘X marks the spot!’
We have made treasure and talked about what we might need.
Many thanks to those parents who have sent items to support the childrens’ learning.
This week some of the children made boats with cartons and trays kindly sent in. They needed to make a flag and attach it their boat. Today they had the chance to see if they floated.
Check out tapestry to see how this went.
Ruby, Opal and Topaz Christmas Performance
Well done to all our brilliant children on two excellent performances.
The children have worked really hard learning songs and lines.
The narrators were well rehearsed and told the story beautifully.
Many thanks to parents and for helping us make this years performance a great success.
Here are some pictures from the event.

Ruby Class have made owl pictures with torn paper and then talked about the story.
Topaz and Opal have made painted ‘lost mummy’ posters some with writing and used paper plates and cardboard tubes
to make their owls.
The children’s work has been displayed with their quotes from the story.
A Special visitor
As you may know the children voted for a Vets role play this half term and many of you have provided us with bandages and other consumables to help support their role play.
We have been fortunate that some parents work in this profession and have provided us with many items that we could not have possibly sourced.
Last week we were lucky enough to have one Mum talk to the children about her work as a vet.
We learnt about X-rays and broken bones, looked and skulls.
The children asked questions about animals. It was interesting to learn that sometimes vets have to treat zoo animals like tigers and snakes.
A big thank you to her and our other parents for your support.
Phonics Evening 21st November
Thank you to the Parent that managed to attend our phonics evening.
The staff looked at the different phases of the Letters and Sounds scheme and some ways to support your child.
Information was displayed and staff were on hand to talk these ideas through with parents.
As promised you will find below the presentation and website links to help support phonics.
