Fireworks and Christmas Bazaar
It’s been a busy time for Foms organising events.
November saw our amazing Fireworks Night, another brilliant display. Many thanks to Mrs Vaites and Andy Gilbert expertly coordinating the fireworks. Thanks also to Emma Johnson for the music and to Mr Woolsey, Thomas and Robert Woolsey and all those who helped on the night. Total raised this year £1100.
It was lovely to see so many of you at the bazaar this year. There were lots of stalls, games and activities.
Photo shoots, festive refreshments, raffles, auctions and of course that special visitor from the north pole Father Christmas himself.
We have raised about £1000
Thanks to all who helped.
The children’s cards have were completed and sent out and we have raised £220 from orders.
Nursery and Reception having been reading the story Owl Babies.
Ruby Class have made owl pictures with torn paper and then talked about the story.
Topaz and Opal have made painted ‘lost mummy’ posters some with writing and used paper plates and cardboard tubes
to make their owls.
The children’s work has been displayed with their quotes from the story.
A Special visitor
As you may know the children voted for a Vets role play this half term and many of you have provided us with bandages and other consumables to help support their role play.
We have been fortunate that some parents work in this profession and have provided us with many items that we could not have possibly sourced.
Last week we were lucky enough to have one Mum talk to the children about her work as a vet.
We learnt about X-rays and broken bones, looked and skulls.
The children asked questions about animals. It was interesting to learn that sometimes vets have to treat zoo animals like tigers and snakes.
A big thank you to her and our other parents for your support.
Phonics Evening 21st November
Thank you to the Parent that managed to attend our phonics evening.
The staff looked at the different phases of the Letters and Sounds scheme and some ways to support your child.
Information was displayed and staff were on hand to talk these ideas through with parents.
As promised you will find below the presentation and website links to help support phonics.

Ruby, Topaz and Opal (Rec) have been learning the story of “The Little Red Hen” and the song Dingle Dangle Scarecrow. Reception have been making hedgehog pictures from leaves.
Opal & Topaz Year 1 have been collecting leaves to fill bottles and designing posters.
Amber class recited a poem titled “Autumn Leaves”. Jade Class a poem called “Harvest” and Pearl class found a poem called “The Harvest Poem” which used a play on words.
The children all performed and sang several songs.
Well done to both children and staff.
