The role of the Parent Council is to facilitate communication links and to support the parents and staff of Markyate Village School and Nursery.
The Parent Council is made up of a representative from each of the school years, from Early Years to Year 6. We meet approximately once a term to share ideas and feedback suggestions to continue to improve the experience for everyone involved in the school.
One of the issues we are currently focussing on is traffic and parking in the local area. This is an ongoing concern and we are continuing to liaise with Community Police, Markyate Parish Council and Dacorum County Council. Issues include parking outside the school without due consideration and ensuring the safety of all pupils on their school journeys.
We recently met with Cllr David Lloyd in regards to this and have a meeting planned with Mike Penning, MP for Dacorum, early in the new year.
