Welcome to Markyate Village School And Nursery

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,

Welcome to Markyate Village School and Nursery. This website has been designed to keep parents informed and to give newcomers an introduction to the school. You will find information about your child’s learning, as well as key documents and access to support for pupils, parents and the wider community.

We have a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed team of people who make up our staff, our governors and Friends of Markyate School (FOMS), who together ensure our school is a happy, exciting place where everyone is valued and respected.

All those in our school community strive to provide an environment where children are actively encouraged to reach their full potential both academically and socially. Our teachers believe that every child matters and they work hard to provide high quality teaching which meets the needs of each pupil. As a result, our children become keen, engaged students who listen and question well and learn in an environment of kindness, responsibility and respect. These values are underpinned in the School's Aims and in the school motto: Together, we Aspire, Strive and Achieve.

Parents and carers play a very important part in school life and we value our partnership with them. We all share responsibility for the children’s education and we look forward to working closely together so that all children can learn well. We encourage parents to become involved in the school community, to ensure that, as partners, we can promote high standards in learning, behaviour and attitudes to enable every child to reach his/her full potential.

We believe Markyate Village School and Nursery is a school to be proud of; a place where children are inspired to learn and grow to be respectful, responsible and caring individuals. We wish your child a happy and successful time with our school and look forward to working with your family.

With best wishes,
