Purpose of study
A high-quality history education will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and
understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. It should inspire pupils’ curiosity to know more about the past. Teaching should equip pupils to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement.

October is Black History Month
Black History Month in the UK celebrates the History, Arts and Culture of Black British people. The 2022 Black History Month's theme is Black Health and Wellness. This focus will celebrate the contributions and breakthroughs of Black professionals in different areas of life. In KS1 and KS2 we will be learning about why Black History Month is important and we will be celebrating the achievements of black people in history and today. Please find a link below about Rosa Parks, whose quiet, but strong stand on equal rights and being treated fairly led to change in America. A truely inspirational woman.
