Year 4 – Diamond Class
What's been going on in Diamond Class in November?
On the 18th November, our year 3 and 4 children took part in Exploration Day. This was the second time the school has run this activity, which involves the children learning outside of the classroom nearly all day. The activities ranged from map reading and negotiating pupil sized spider webs, to creating shelters and attempting assault courses. The final activities were back in the dell as darkness fell, with our Forest School staff lending a hand with cooking dinner on an open camp fire.
I wanted to send you a quick note to say thank you to everybody involved in last weeks exploration day. My son thoroughly enjoyed himself, it's was great to hear him tell me all about it, sounds like they worked brilliantly together in teams and was a great chance for his confidence to shine.
Thanks again to all who helped make it so enjoyable and giving the children this experience. (Year 3 parent).
October is Black History Month
Black History Month in the UK celebrates the History, Arts and Culture of Black British people. The 2022 Black History Month's theme is Black Health and Wellness. This focus will celebrate the contributions and breakthroughs of Black professionals in different areas of life. In KS1 and KS2 we will be learning about why Black History Month is important and we will be celebrating the achievements of black people in history and today. Please find a link below about Rosa Parks, whose quiet, but strong stand on equal rights and being treated fairly led to change in America. A truely inspirational woman.
